Katie graduated with a B.Sc. Honours in Geology from the University of Saskatchewan in 2022 and is currently pursuing a second degree in education. She brings varied experience in geology, education, and outreach to the team. Katie has experience working as an instructor at Sci-Fi Science Camp, volunteering with the U of S Geology Outreach Program, teaching both undergraduate geology labs and violin lessons, and working as an Educational Assistant. Her geological experience is varied as she spent time doing remote field work in Nunavut as part of an undergraduate research position, worked on a lithium exploration project in Northern Ontario, and worked for an oil company for a summer in Calgary. Katie’s role as Instructor, Education and Outreach at Mining Matters combines her passions for both geoscience and teaching.
