Spring Student Intern & Graduate Intern Opportunities

Mining Matters is seeking dedicated, responsible, and self-motivated individuals to join our team as Student Intern (Fall 2025 Co-op Term, Winter 2026 Co-op Term) and Graduate Intern (July 2025 – June 2026)

As part of our Education and Outreach team, interns will: 

  • Assist in organizing, planning, and delivering educational programming.
  • Facilitate fun, hands-on STEM sessions—both virtual and in-person—focused on geology, engineering, mineral exploration, mining, and sustainability.
  • Travel extensively to urban, rural, and remote communities to engage youth in exciting learning experiences.
  • Support safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful learning environments. 

These roles are funded in part by the Government of Canada and have specific eligibility criteria

Student Intern

Applicants must be: 

  • Registered in a part-time or full-time program at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
  • Studying in a STEM-related field (e.g., Earth Science, Engineering, Environmental Science). 

Graduate Intern

Applicants must be: 

  • Between 18 and 30 years old at the start of the placement.
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Unemployed, underemployed, or a student before the placement.
  • Not enrolled in full-time studies during the internship (part-time is permitted).
