Mahdi's education in Kinesiology and Religious studies at McGill University is representative of his wide range of interests coupled with his commitment to deeply engage with them. Through roughly seven years of experience in education, communications, and outreach, he has coordinated programs, taught at the post-secondary level, managed disability case files at Sun Life, and led communications work at McGill. Mahdi has developed a knack for effective and clear bilingual communication and knows how to simplify intricate topics and keep complex projects on course. Most recently, he served as Staff Coordinator for the Government of Canada Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, where he represented Canada on an international stage while managing the daily operations of a large team welcoming thousands of daily visitors to the Canada Pavilion. Fluent in English, French, Persian (Farsi), and Japanese and based in Montréal, Mahdi brings this combination of organizational skill, cross-cultural fluency, and intellectual curiosity to Mining Matters as Bilingual Programs Coordinator, where he supports the growth of English and French programs in mineral resources education across Québec.
