Mine Hints

The hints are roughly ordered in the expected puzzle order, but to avoid any spoilers we recommend that you use the search function (ctrl+f) to search for key words (e.g. light controls, padlock, etc.) in the puzzle that you need help with.

Open the Light Controls

Hint 1

The door is screwed shut, what can you find to undo the screws?

Hint 2

The legend of the periodic table looks a bit odd, maybe have a closer look?

Solution

The periodic table poster is being pinned up with a screwdriver, it can be picked up and used to open the light controls.

Turning on the lights

Hint 1

The pegs in the controls can be connected by clicking and dragging.

Hint 2

Is there something in the room that has a similar pattern with 4 dots on the left and 4 on the right?

Hint 3

The sparkly gems have 4 on each side with one of each colour on each side.

Solution

Connect the pins matching the colours of the sparkly gems. Top left to third down right. Second down left to second down right. Third down left to bottom right. Bottom left to top right.

Lowering Thermostat

Hint 1

The thermostat has a wire running to the pipes above the door. Maybe you should have a closer look at the pipes?

Hint 2

The words on the stop sign above the door look familiar, maybe there is something else in the room that can help?

Hint 3

You need to tun the words on the stop sign into numbers, can you use the periodic table to do this?

Solution

The answer code is the atomic numbers of “Ru” “N”, “Ac” and can be found on the periodic table as 44, 7, 89. This makes the code 44789.

Opening the Padlock

Hint 1

Does the image on the lock resemble anything else in the room?

Hint 2

The image on the lock shows a small image and a large image with an arrow in between them. Could this help determine an order?

Hint 3

The images look like the glowing mushrooms. The mushrooms are in a variety of sizes.

Solution

Enter the number of each size of mushroom, the order is noted on the lock, biggest at the top of the lock and smallest on the bottom. From top down the code is 1264.

The Truck is in the Way

Hint 1

 The key is locked up in this room.

Hint 2

Try opening the supply closet.

Solution

You will need to open the supply closet by opening the padlock.

The Second Lightbox

Hint 1

This looks similar to the first light box, have you seen anything that might connect to the notes on the pegs?

Hint 2

This mine is really into posters, can the one in this room help?

Hint 3

Try to connect the minerals (on the left) to the final product uses (on the right).

Solution

This is a matching game. Hematite connects to buildings/bridges; chalcopyrite to pipes/electrical; calcite to toothpaste; and halite to table salt.

Completing the Maze

Hint 1

The directions don’t read like arrow-pad directions…

Hint 2

Try reading the directions like you are walking on a map or if you are the hard hat. You start facing forward.

Solution

The directions using the arrow-pad is: up, left, down, left, up, up, right, up.

Conveyor Belt

Hint 1

The buttons above the conveyor belt have words, can you find more information on them?

Hint 2

What order do the waves noted on the buttons occur?

Hint 3

There is something funny about the label on the conveyor belt, could this help you with the order you need to push the buttons?

Solution

The buttons are pressed in the reverse order (as denoted by the sign in reverse) that they would arrive. Press the wave-types in this order: Surface, S-waves, P-Waves.

Wyvern

Hint 1

What else is in the room? Can you find anything that a wyvern might be interested in?

Hint 2

Have you been able to reverse the direction of the conveyor belt?

Solution

Reverse the direction of the conveyor belt and give the treasure that appears to the wyvern.

Puzzle

Hint 1

There are 9 pieces in total, have a look around for the purple puzzle pieces.

Piece 1

The first piece is in the first room in the light controls to the left of the Refuge station door.

Piece 2

The second piece is in the first room to the right of the sparkling coloured gems.

Piece 3

The third piece is in the first room to the left of the door across from the refuge station.

Piece 4

The fourth piece is in the second room in supply closet.

Piece 5

The fifth piece is in the second room and was revealed by moving the truck.

Piece 6

The sixth piece is in the third room to the right of the door back to the second area.

Piece 7

The seventh piece is in the third room on the table with the seismograph.

Piece 8

The eighth piece is in the third room and appears under the diamond on the conveyor belt.

Piece 9

The ninth piece is in the third room to the left of the puzzle frame.

Calling the Cage

Hint 1

Have you spoken with the wyvern?

Hint 2

Have you looked at the sign on the wall? What is the floor level? What does the note from the wyvern say?

Solution

The note tells you how to calculate the number of pulls/rings you need. Divide the floor level (400) by 80 to get 5. Ring the bell that 5 times. You need to complete the rings while the light is green.
