Mining Rocks Earth Science Program

Mining Matters will be delivering a Mining Rocks Earth Science Program and community event to the community of Lynn Lake Manitoba from November 4 - 6. The program will primarily be held at West Lynn Heights School to deliver engaging hands-on programing focused on Earth science and the mining industry to Grades 1, 2, 4, 7, 8 and High School students. Activities cover topics such as robotics and coding, rocks and minerals, and water and the environment. In addition to the school programing the Mining Matters is planning a community event on the 6th, where they will be offering hands on activities, such as soapstone carving, jewellery making, and colouring gold leaf postcards for the entire community to participate in. On the last day of their visit they will be joining the high school students on a tour of Alamos open pit mine site.
