WHERE Challenge Workshop

Mining Matters to Students

WHERE Challenge workshops can be booked for your class here and will be delivered by one of our facilitators.

During the workshop, students will:

  • Learn that everything in our world that isn’t grown is made using non-renewable resources that are extracted from the Earth.

  • Work in teams to develop and present a short story that connects rocks, minerals, metals to your everyday life.

  • Discover the wealth of minerals and metals found in the province and explore a map of the province that shows the location of mines and the variety of resources that are extracted.

  • Discuss finite resources and the importance of conservation by reducing, reusing, recycling and being a responsible consumer.

  • Find out how to enter the WHERE Challenge.

Workshops are free of charge, but we ask that participating students commit to completing a WHERE Challenge project and entering the contest.

Should you have any questions about the contest, please email [email protected].

Please complete the request form in full. Incomplete forms will not be accepted by the booking platform. If you would like to book more than one workshop please submit a separate form for each class.

The Mining Matters Education Team looks forward to working with you and your students.
