The world's second largest diamond was recently found in Botswana by Canadian mining company Lucara Diamond Corp. It measures 1,111 carats - which is about the size of a tennis ball!

  • Critical Connections

    critical-connections-coverIn 2021, Canada developed a list of 31 minerals and metals deemed critical for developing  a low-carbon future. This poster explores these critical minerals, including how they can combat climate change, and highlights the ones that can be found in Canada.

    Music from the Earth explores the use of minerals, metals and elements in the creation of musical instruments, performances and audio engineering. The poster features a range of instruments, including percussion, brass, woodwinds and strings, as well as electronic devices and the Earth materials that are used in their manufacture.
